Zodiac Youth

Having bumped into each other in a corridor in the Marylebone liver hospital, Zodiac and Youth decided to rekindle a creative partnership that started in the mid 80's in the island of Formanterra, where the pair dreamed up the early concept of Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction whilst living in caves and trees and surviving on a diet of very strong acid, Moroccan hash, local beer and cheese.
This time they would still be called Zodiac Youth but, unlike the 90's electronic incarnation, the musical direction would now be dirty blues meets acid country meets post punk occult alt dance…. having celebrated their reunion with a ritual tattoo sesh, they reconvened in Spain at Youth's hideaway state of the art Space Mountain studio and began furiously laying down some dark magic filthy riffs, allied with irresistible fat disco beats and Zed's free-jazz beat poet / apocalyptic shamanic preacher persona onto tape.
This time "live" means LIVE! Augmented on stage with sax player Magik Alex the Hat, guitarist Jimi “Finger-Bat” Sedwood and acid synth Professor Andrew Trunk Hammer, a slew of riotous underground club gigs have already been embarked on, including one at the now legendary Hoxton club venue Decasia at The Old blue last where the sell out teenage crowd were unrelenting in their stage invasions.Slightly worrying.
This time around, the project also incorporates their own original artwork and paintings, as well as written works. Witness Zed’s evil interpretations of Rupert the Bear and Youth's abstract surrealist hymn poems.
Or whatever.
